The Land of Venice was born to tell the story of the territories historically linked to the Republic of Venice — a much larger area than usually imagined, stretching across Veneto, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Slovenia and Croatian Istria.

For centuries these territories were united by the same history: the forests of Carnia supplying timber for the Arsenal, the salt flats of the northern Adriatic producing the white gold of the Serenissima, the cellars of Collio and Istria cultivating the Malvasia that Venice brought from the eastern Mediterranean, the white Istrian stone that built the palaces on the lagoon. These are bonds that history left as a legacy, yet today they remain largely untold — fragmented across different administrative borders, different languages, and a tourist perception that often stops at Venice itself.

The Land of Venice exists to reconnect that thread. It is not a generic guide and not a directory of places to tick off. It is an editorial project that selects authentic experiences — wineries, restaurants, accommodation, excursions — and tells them within itineraries designed to be travelled slowly, favouring the quality of the experience over the quantity of stops.
