Kozlović: the Winery Overlooking the Momjan Valley and the Unexpected Istrian Malvasia
Since 1904, in a village of just 283 residents that preserves the Adriatic’s rarest Muscat.

In the picturesque Momjan Valley, a village of just 283 residents is guarded by a 12th-century castle and an outstanding native grape variety: Muscat of Momjan. In this landscape, where green truffle-rich hills alternate with vineyards, the Kozlović family has been producing wine for four generations.
The winery is housed in a clean, modern building set among the vineyards, on the very site where the family planted its first hectare in 1904. At first sight, it almost feels unreal—the architecture is striking and contemporary, bold and modern, yet perfectly integrated into the surrounding landscape. The glass-fronted terrace creates the sensation of floating above the valley.
The tasting follows a route through the production areas, the barrel room and the large oak casks, before concluding with the winery’s most representative wines: the fresh Malvazija, the aged Santa Lucia and Terrano. But the wine that alone is worth the journey is the Muscat of Momjan—extremely rare, produced in very limited quantities and known mostly to true enthusiasts.
