Since 1872, Gredič has stood at the heart of Brda’s winemaking history. Count Silverio de Baguer not only brought the region’s wines to the Pope’s cellars, but was also among the first to consider this land as a true terroir, introducing viticultural methods far removed from local traditions. Thanks to him, Brda became firmly associated with fine wine.
The imposing villa dates back around 400 years and was fully renovated in 2012, while preserving its historic charm. After the war, it stood on the border between two worlds—today, it knows no barriers at all.
The restaurant has earned a Michelin Bib Gourmand for its contemporary cuisine, offering tasting menus of 3, 5, 7 or 9 courses, with particularly striking vineyard views in autumn. What truly makes Gredič unique, however, is its wine cellar: an almost complete collection of wines from the entire region, featuring producers from both the Slovenian Brda side and the Italian Collio. The cellar alone would be worth the journey.
