Russiz Superiore: seven hundred years of winemaking history in the heart of the Collio
The estate with the eagle of the Princes of Torre e Tasso, six generations of an Istrian family, and some of the longest-lived white wines in Friuli.

A story that began over 150 years ago in Istria and arrived in the Collio: a land of extraordinary beauty which, thanks to a unique climate and soil, gives its wines structure, savouriness, elegance, and longevity. Ilaria Felluga is the sixth generation.
The estate has Roman origins and still bears the double-headed eagle, the emblem of the Princes of Torre e Tasso, among the first lords of these lands in 1273. The Felluga family acquired it in 1967—but their relationship with wine began much earlier, in Istria, before the post-war border forced Giovanni Felluga to move to Friuli, bringing with him his experience and his vines.
The visit begins in the winery courtyard, winds through the estate vineyards, and continues into the historic Orzoni barrel cellar—where the red wines are aged—before concluding in the production cellar. The tasting includes a selection of single-varietal wines: Friulano, Pinot Grigio, Ribolla Gialla—the purest expression of the Collio white wines. Russiz wines are made to be enjoyed young, but they can also age for years, revealing new layers of complexity each time.
The estate is located in Capriva del Friuli, just a few minutes from Castello di Spessa.
