Cividale del Friuli
The ancient Lombard capital, Cividale del Friuli enchants visitors with its beautifully preserved medieval centre and the Lombard Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A walk across the Devil's Bridge is not to be missed.
The Wineries of the Collio
The Friulian Collio is one of Italy's finest wine regions, nestled between the Slovenian border and the Friulian plain. Spending a morning among the vineyards, with a winery tour and tasting, is the best way to understand this remarkable landscape. Russiz Superiore, in Capriva del Friuli, is the ideal place to begin the day—seven centuries of winemaking history and some of the Collio's longest-lived white wines. For lunch, head to La Subida in nearby Cormons, a Michelin-starred restaurant serving refined borderland cuisine in a hamlet tucked away in the woods.
San Daniele del Friuli
The home of Italy's most celebrated prosciutto. A visit to a traditional prosciutto producer offers a glimpse into centuries of craftsmanship and time-honoured expertise.

By car: Udine is just 17 km from Cividale del Friuli via the SP56, a drive of around 20 minutes.
From Cividale del Friuli to Cormons: 35 km via the SS356 and SP19, approximately 40 minutes by car.
From Cormons to San Daniele del Friuli: 45 km via the SS463, approximately 45 minutes by car.
Recommended period: September–October for the grape harvest, or May–June.
Winery visits must be booked in advance.
